Dr. Ru-Chi Yang is a Chinese individual who is originally from Taiwan. I obtained a Ph. D. degree in Counseling Psychology in 2005. My doctoral dissertation topic is First generation Chinese people's acculturation into the American culture during major role changes. I also acquired a M. S. degree in Counseling Psychology in 1999 and a B.S. degree in Nursing from Taiwan, R.O.C. in 1994. I completed my post-doctoral training at Child and Adolescent Services at Hamilton Center and my pre-doctoral internship at Dr. Gertrude A. Barber National Institute in Erie, PA. I used to work as a Mobile Therapist at Sarah A. Reed Children's Center in Erie, PA and a Psychiatric Nurse at Taipei City Psychiatric Center in Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C. I am a Licensed Psychologist, a Health Service Provider in Psychology, and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). I am also a Licensed Nurse in Taiwan, R.O.C. I have worked at Child and Adolescent Services at Hamilton Center since June 2005. I conduct psychological assessments and individual, family, group therapy and provide supervision to the doctoral students in Clinical Psychology. Furthermore, I am native fluent in Chinese to conduct psychotherapy and psychological assessment. In addition to the traditional therapy approach, I incorporate a Child-Centered Play Therapy, a Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy, and a Child Parent Relationship Therapy intervention in treatment. I am also in the process of acquiring additional play therapy experience to obtain the credential of a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S). I am a member of Association for Play Therapy (APT) and of Indiana Association for Play Therapy (INAPT) since September 2006. I graduated from the APT Leadership Academy in 2012. In addition, I have served on Ethics and Practices Committee of APT since April 2012 and took part in Key Awards Committee of APT since November 09. |
