Services

Hamilton Center, Inc. provides a wide range of outpatient services designed to meet the needs of Owen County residents. We offer individual treatment, family therapy, group therapy, couples counseling and home visits.

Common problems for which clients request help include depression, anxiety, substance abuse, stress, parenting, family/relationship difficulties and divorce issues.

Special services are available for children and adolescents. They include treatment for a wide range of general behavior problems, such as oppositional-defiant disorders, school problems, truancy, developmental disorders and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder. Assistance is also available in developing children’s social skills and for parent-child conflict.

Other specialties include abuse issues (physical, sexual and emotional), eating disorders, and psychological/academic testing. Programs are available for anger management, parenting, substance abuse, and treatment for people with serious mental illnesses.

Family Specialists are available to teach basic skills such as budgeting, housekeeping, nutrition, and appropriate child discipline.

24-Hour Crisis Services
We are on-call 24 hours a day for those people needing emergency treatment.

Addictions Services
We offer a a 30-session Intensive Outpatient Group, a 10-session Relapse Prevention Group, and a 4-session Substance Abuse and Treatment Process Education Group for adults with substance abuse problems. These group sessions focus on relapse prevention, avoiding high risk situations, decision-making skills, personal patterns of addiction, family roles and influence, feelings associated with addiction an recovery, support persons and resources, shame-based responses, relaxation and stress management techniques, leisure time activities, short- and long-term goals, and coping strategies.

Groups are available mornings and evenings.
