Clinical Supervisor - VCSS
Division: Client Support Services – Vigo County Support Services (VCSS)
Supervised By: Director of Client Support Services - VCSS
FLSA Status: Exempt/Regular/Full-time

Oversees VCSS Therapist activities, assuring quality clinical services and appropriate staffing. Position is responsible for all aspects of Vigo County Support Services Therapist Clinical Services. Participates in the general operation and activities of CSS Central as a whole.
| Essential Duties/Responsibilities |

- Assists Director with development of VCSS Program Budget.
- Assists with decisions relative to VCSS therapists
- Monitors income / expenditure of VCSS therapists, remaining in line with monetary goals
- Monitors therapist caseloads to assure compliance for 3rd party payors including chart reviews, completing prior request and precertification
- Assures therapists compliance with accrediting bodies (Ex. CARF)
- Ensures quality of care and client satisfaction for VCSS therapists
- Develop service procedures specific to VCSS therapist
- Develop a method of quantitative and qualitative measure to ensure good practice.
- Serves as a resource person in both HCI and the community within area of expertise
- Provides in-service training and participates in continuing education activities; acquires and maintains knowledge of federal, state and accrediting bodies’ regulations/guidelines for provision of services, reimbursement, etc.
- Assists the Director with representing HCI with external agencies and consumers for the purpose of improved services, education and program development.
- Meets regularly with Director of Client Support Services to exchange pertinent information and receive supervision.
- Meets regularly with staff for purposes of administrative supervision, disseminating information, receiving feedback.
- Participates in staff recruitment, marketing of services, and development of consultation and education contracts.
- Interprets state/national/local issues and policies/legislation related to service area including funding and service trends and current practices.
- Ensures coordination of services, referrals and planning with other community agencies, promoting inter-agency cooperation, identification of needs, and access to available resources.
- Approves staff hiring, promotion, pay adjustments, dismissals, etc. assuring compliance with Center procedures and external regulatory agencies.
- Completes performance appraisals on immediate supervisees and review/approves appraisals for all other staff.
- Oversees the completion, correctness and timeliness of all ANSA’s and HAP’s
- Maintains a small active caseload providing therapy as needed within area of expertise
- Demonstrates competent use of Profiler and the ability to assist staff in using the EMR.
- Utilization of reports to pinpoint and address errors and provide on-site training to staff.
- Maintains a high level of ethical conduct regarding confidentiality, dual relationships, and professional stature.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
| Supervisory Responsibilities |
- This position directly supervises the VCSS Therapists.
- Must carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Hamilton Center’s policies and applicable laws.
- Includes interviewing, making hiring recommendations, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
| Minimum Qualifications/Requirements |
- Masters degree required in mental health related field. HSPP or LCSW licensure required.
- Five years experience in mental health or rehabilitation services, two years at an administrative level.
- Acceptable knowledge of state, federal and accrediting bodies’ regulations regarding provision of services, documentation, reimbursement and income resources.
- Skills in gathering, analyzing and interpreting data, problem-solving and hypothetical-deductive reasoning.
- Exceptional written and oral (including public speaking) skills.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills reflected in ability to handle conflicts effectively, motivate staff, and manage a high level of extremely varied tasks on a daily basis.
- Knowledge of personnel management, fiscal management and facility management.
- Willingness to use personal transportation in work capacity.

- Valid driver’s license in accordance with MVL policy.
- Licensed in the State of Indiana as a Clinical Social Worker or Health Services Provider in Psychology

- Satisfactory reference and background investigation checks
- Completion of a pre-employment drug screening and completion of post employment drug or alcohol tests upon reasonable suspicion of use
- Completion of tuberculin screening no later than three days prior to first work day of employment and annually thereafter
- Completion of Center-wide new employee orientation and ALL required paperwork prior to reporting for work
- Completion of HCI’s Quality training
- Completion of HCI’s Managerial training within the first six months of employment
- Attendance at all mandatory staff development & training
- Successful completion of a six month on the job orientation period
- Participation in payroll electronic deposit
- Adherence to Compliance Program Plan
