Assist other Center
staff in providing an environment free from danger.
| Essential Duties/Responsibilities |
To perform this
job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals

- Receive clients,
patients, and visitors or guests entering Center; provide information,
directions, and assistance, guarding client/patient confidentiality.
- Oversee center
reception/waiting area. Answer main center telephone lines, routing
calls to appropriate individuals and taking messages; prioritize calls
and requests; announce pages as necessary.
- Maintain familiarly
with Center evacuation plan.
- Routinely do
security checks at the Main Center and Spectrum Building.
- Check exterior
lighting during evening shift hours for security reasons.
- Monitor Center
parking areas for safety and compliance with parking policies and rules.
- Escort patient
and staff as necessary.
- Assist in patient
restraint as necessary.
- Communicate with
supervisor and/or other security staff regarding safety violations and
potential problems.
- Attend staff
and other meetings as assigned.
- Participate in
training activities as assigned or approved.
- Meet regularly
with supervisor to exchange pertinent information and receive supervision.
- Maintain positive
communication with patients, clients, visitors, and staff.
- Enforce the various
security policies.
- Assist with training
of new security staff.
- Performs other
duties as assigned.
| Minimum Qualifications/Requirements |
- High School Diploma
or GED.
- Knowledge and
skills in basic safety/security principles, general Center resources
and information, switchboard operation principles, English language,
oral and written communication, and time management.
| Certificates, Licenses, Registrations |
- Maintain current
American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Maintain current
CPI certification.

High risk and life
threatening factors are interlocked in job responsibilities or working
conditions such as inspection of Hamilton Center, Inc. facilities when
bomb threats are called in. There is a risk factor when doing routine
security checks; when physically restraining out of control consumers
or visitors who may or may not have a weapon.
- Completion of
tuberculin screening no later than three days prior to first day of
employment and annually thereafter
- Completion of
a pre-employment drug screening and completion of post-employment drug
or alcohol tests upon reasonable suspicion of use.
- Completion of
Center-wide orientation and ALL required paperwork prior to reporting
for work
- Demonstrated
computer literacy through successful completion of pre-employment testing
may be required.
- Completion of
Total Quality Management training
- Attendance at
all mandatory staff development and training
- Successful completion
of a six month on the job orientation period
- Participation
in payroll electronic deposit
- Adherence to
Compliance Program Plan
- Satisfactory
reference and background investigation checks.
