Distribution Assistant/Courier

The Distribution Assistant/Courier is responsible for sorting, delivering, and posting Center mail, maintain supply house in an orderly fashion and be versatile in relief of Receptionist. Must be able to work independently with direction from supervisor.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities |

- Conduct routine mail runs; daily a.m. pick up and p.m. mail deliveries at the Post Office, outreach facilities, doing the Center's daily banking run and Courthouse papers.
- Administer postage meter, order checks for postage and maintain supplies.
- Sort, route, post and meter all Center mail: to include distribution of UPS, Federal Express and Airborne deliveries; process, package, label, meter, etc., all outgoing mail.
- Assist Purchaser in supply procurement as needed.
- Disperse and rotate stock: Internal supplies, desk supplies, forms, copier, fax, and printer supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicles being driven (interior & exterior); keep vehicles adequately fueled and serviced.
- Administer photocopier logs and reports to accounting; assist in routine maintenance of all Center photocopier and calling in for repair as necessary.
- Do bulk mailings.
- Meet regularly with Director of Operations to exchange pertinent information and receive supervision.
- Act as backup to Purchaser (PO's, ordering, etc.).
- Participate in training activities and other Center meetings as approved or assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements |
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge and skills in operation of office machines and equipment and in minor repair and maintenance, basic supply and inventory procedures, record keeping, basic English usage and communication skills, basic math skills, pleasant telephone voice and interpersonal skills.

- Valid driver’s license in accordance with HCI motor vehicle policy.

Must be able to lift and deliver weights up to 50 lbs. Climbing on step stool to fill inventory request; lifting large boxes for storage for delivery.
- Completion of tuberculin screening no later than three days prior to first day of employment and annually thereafter
- Completion of a pre-employment drug screening and completion of post-employment drug or alcohol tests upon reasonable suspicion of use.
- Completion of Center-wide orientation and ALL required paperwork prior to reporting for work
- Demonstrated computer literacy through successful completion of pre-employment testing may be required.
- Completion of HCI Quality training
- Attendance at all mandatory staff development and training
- Successful completion of a six month on the job orientation period
- Participation in payroll electronic deposit
- Adherence to Compliance Program Plan
- Satisfactory reference and background investigation checks.
